Gastonia, Sept. 18—Local mills have raised prizes of yarns slightly, due to curtailment of work on account of a lack of hydro-electric power, which was caused by the drought. Most mills here have curtailed their work two days a week. Stronger staple cotton basis and a lack of stock yarns are also responsible for the price raise.
Cured yarns this week showed the first substantial raise in prices for several months.
