News Collected Along Route 7, Sept. 4, 1925

Country Correspondence

Route Seven

Cotton picking will soon be on in earnest in this neighborhood.

Roy Christenbury returned home on Sunday after spending a week with his sister, Mrs. C.A. Harrison of Salisbury.

Venus, Mrs. R.O. Christenbury has an ear of corn which he got out of his field this year and it is 11 ½ inches long and contains 1,120 grains. If you can beat that for an ear of corn, trot it out.

Kannapolis made it three out of three from Concord. It is reported in the Salisbury Post of the 28th that if Kannapolis were in the Piedmont League that they could win games right along. If they could, why don’t they put them in? We hope that the Concord boys will have better luck in the baseball line next year.

Com one, White Hall and Rocky River, with your items. We like to read them.

Mr. H.M. Motley and children of Charlotte spent Sunday at the home of Mrs. R.O. Christenbury.
