Charlotte, Jan. 5 (AP)—Search today was being instituted throughout the two Carolinas for Grady L. Gilbert of Rutherfordton, N.C., whose absence since Saturday morning is unexplained, and which was followed by the death of his wife suddenly last night at Asheville. Mrs. Gilbert was taken to Asheville Sunday in a state of near collapse, according to Harry Gilbert of Darlington, S.C., brother of the man.
The brother was here today aiding in the search.
Mr. Gilbert is described as 29 years of age.
