Another group of nine 4-H club members of this county will
leave here Thursday afternoon for the state short course in Raleigh, and will
assist a group already there from the county in depicting the progress of fairs
in North Carolina Thursday evening, Miss Katherine Millsaps, home demonstration
agent, said today.
Those who will leave Thursday are Ada Lee Griffin, Mary Turner,
Doris McPherson, Betty Byrd Hobby, Betty Jean Thompson, Sarah Marie Stuart,
Imogene Hobby, Russell Thompson, and Russell Fleming.
Twenty-two boys and girls of this county left yesterday for
a week’s stay at the course.
Dorothy Mann of the Hawfield community, will get special
recognition for participation in the health
phase of the pageant. She will be one of the attendants to the state king
and queen of health.
