The new temporary chapel of the Groveland Presbyterian church, (colored) will formally be open for church services Sunday at 11 o’clock. This new church building is situated near the new Lincoln hospital site, of the old Stokes’ estate.
Some time last spring the lot was purchased; then the officers and members began planning for a building, with prayer, hope, faith, and deep enthusiasm for the purpose of having a church home.
The afternoon service will consist of the annual “Children’s Day” celebration, under the leadership of Annie J. Rogers, president of the ladies’ home and foreign missionary of the colored Presbyterian in the U.S.A.
The closing features of the day’s services will be a financial drive for the benefit of the above named church. The public is cordially invited to all these services.
