Greensboro, Feb. 12—A pipe wrench, a butcher knife and a screw driver were tools used last night by some would-be safe crackers here when they entered a local candy shop through a side door by removing the lock, took the small safe into the basement, and then sought to beat it open. The safe resisted their efforts. The tools, as well as efforts, were abandoned.
