The 3-year-old child of Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Pearson of Wilkesboro Rt. 1 was almost burned to death Sunday 16th, ult. Her clothing caught fire and burned almost off before her father and 11-year-old sister could put it out, both sustaining minor burns themselves on their hands fighting the flames.
Over half the surface of the child’s body was burned badly. It was thought the child could not live but the fine attention of the physician, Dr. Hutchens, and nurse, Mrs. Ingram, seems about to recover.
