Celebration of Mrs. Minton's 77th Birthday, April 6, 1924

Birthday Celebration

On Sunday, April 6th, the friends and relatives of Mrs. Manervia Minton assembled at her home with well filled baskets for the purpose of bringing a gentle surprise and making merry with Mrs. Minton, it being her 77th birthday.

A table was prepared in the grove and was soon filled with luxuries as be said to be temping indeed. About 80 persons then lined up along side the table and listened to brief but interesting remarks by Rev. E.O. Shaver, after which a prayer of thanksgiving was offered, and the people proceeded to help themselves, making merry with each other and Mrs. Minton.

After dinner Rev. Mr. Shaver assembled a portion of the Arbor Grove choir and entertained the people splendidly for a while with songs. The occasion seemed to be enjoyed by all present, so much so that the crowd seemed loath to part. We wish for Mrs. Minton happiness in her declining years.
