Alphonso Barden, bicycle delivery boy for Perry-Horton shoe company, received only minor cuts and bruises Friday morning when he ran into a Ford coupe, driven by J.D. Jackson of Mebane, at the intersection of Main and Church streets at the corner occupied by Main Street Pharmacy.
It was stated that Jackson was making the turn to the right in a perfectly legitimate way, while the youth was attempting to turn the corner on the left hand side of the street, becoming entangled between the car and the curb.
The young negro was carried to Lincoln hospital for treatment at once, and was forced to have five stitches taken in his lip, this being the worst injury he received.
