Co-Ops Sell Cotton Abroad

The sales department of the North Carolina Cotton Growers Co-operative Association reports sales of cotton to Japan, Spain and Italy. This is the first North Carolina cotton sent to these countries, but there have been shipments before to Germany and Russia. The deliveries of cotton to the association this week averaged more than 2,000 bales a day. Members are receiving an advance of $70 on 500-pound bales.

Monday was a record-breaking day, 4,000 bales being received by the association. Drafts made by members reached almost $250,000. Total deliveries last week went more than 2,000 bales above deliveries of the corresponding week in 1923.
