Mrs. Archer has an automobile and is driving it herself. She is around 70 years old, but any fear that she or her friends had that she might be nervous at the steering wheel turned out to be unwarranted. Almost from the time her instruction began she felt unafraid, and, before she had been at it more than a day, was threading her way imperturbably through the traffic of our own main street; and soon thereafter she tackled Durham with the same confidence. Her instructor stayed by her, for safety’s sake, but she has not seemed in much need of help.
