By Alice Gray, Junior Class
The eighth grade of Poplar Branch High School was very anxious to engage in a story telling contest with the ninth grade. It was decided that the contest would be given in Chapel, Monday, March 2nd. The representatives from each grade were chosen by the popular vote of the class. Edythe White and Ray Kinsey represented the ninth grade and Hattie Baumand Mary Louise Aydlett the eighth grade. Different types of stores are suited to different people, therefore, the representatives were allowed to choose the stories they wished to tell. The provided a variety in the story-telling. Hattie Baum’s story of “The Poor Jackal” was very clever and interesting. The eighth grade wone by a unanimous vote.
