F.M. Watters of Cleveland Feed Company, Aug. 11, 1925

F.M. Watters of Cleveland Feed Co.

The cartoonist pictures above one who was born in Pennsylvania, but he’s “from Missouri” when it comes to believing that there is a better feed than “Tuxedo.” That, in short, would be a good biography of F.M. Watters, proprietor of the Cleveland feed Company, wholesale and retail, with headquarters on West Warren street—or just behind the First National Bank, from point of location.

Mr. Watters is what might be termed a new-comer to Shelby, but he’s a regular fellow from standpoint of acquaintance and the fame of his products have on the surrounding market. For eight months the Cleveland Feed Company, with the hobby of “feeding human beings and other livestock,” has been in business in Shelby and seemingly the firm has made its mark in that period. Mr. Watters, a first-claimed native of Pennsylvania, was formerly salesman of the famous Van Camp products and was well acquainted with the feeding line before he entered business here. Associated with him in the ownership is Mr. Carey Boshamer, wholesale grocer.

Tuxedo Feeds, manufactured by the Early & Daniel Company, are the main lines with the Cleveland Feed Company. The Tuxedo Feeds are for horses, cows, hogs and poultry and are already popular with the farmers of Cleveland. In addition to the Tuxedo lines the firm carries flour and general feed stock.

In spare moments Mr. Watters has a liking for the element of which his name suggests—water. Swimming and fishing are his favorite amusements, although he is a sport fan of first calibre. Mr. Watters is a Presbyterian, a Mason, and a member of the U.C.T.
