Carl Wabberson, 15, Dies of Blood Poisoning, Nov. 5, 1925

15-Year-Old Boy Dies of Blood Poison. . . Carl Wabberson Succumbs after Intense Suffering—Caused by Abscess on His Neck—Was Popular Boy with Good School Record—School Closed by Account of His Death

Bladenboro, Nov. 5—Carl Wabberson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.C.H. Wabberson, died at the home of his parents Monday morning, Nov. 2nd. Carl had been desperately ill for 10 days with blood poison, caused by an abscess on the back of his neck. From the first his was almost a hopeless case but he was so anxious to live and put forth every effort to live. All that medical attention and good nursing could do was done, but to no avail.

During his illness his suffering was intense, and death was a blessed relief for him from misery. Carl was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wabberson, being 15 years old in August. He was one of the most popular boys in school, a member of the 9th grade. His teachers, stating that he was always thoughtful and kind.

On account of the absence of his pastor, Rev. S.N. Watson, the funeral service was conducted by Revs. W.D. Pridgen and N.L. Seabolt in the Baptist church Wednesday morning. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The burial was in the town cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Wabberson and family have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.

School closed Tuesday on account of his death.
