Trial of Wade Bowman for Criminal Attack on 13-Year-Old Girl Postponed, Nov. 21, 1925

Major Bowman Not to be Tried Now in Catawba Court. . . Case Against the Former National Guard Officer Continued When Called at Newton. . . True Bill Has Been Returned. . . Judge Shaw Ordered Major Bowman into Custody and Will Set Amount of His Bond Later

Newton, N.C., Nov. 21 (AP)—The case against Wade V. Bowman, former National Guard officer charged with criminal attack on a 13-year-old girl of Hickory, was continued from this term of Catawba County Superior Court after the grand jury last Tuesday returned a true bill of indictment on the capital felony. Bowman was ordered into custody by Judge Thos. J. Shaw, and it was intimated that applications for bond would be made sometime today.

Solicitor R.L. Huffman said yesterday afternoon that a special term of court maybe asked for in January so the present docket could be completed.
