Washington Carrier Pigeon Prefers Shelby, N.C., June 7, 1926

Carrier Pigeon on Visit to Shelby

Jake Rudasill’s menagerie, including about 1,000 pigeons, has a caller this week. The new pigeon, a carrier, dropped in several days ago and apparently has taken up with the Shelby birds and had no intention of leaving. One of the brass bands on the carrier’s leg carries the following inscription: A.J.—25. WDC, 57”, denoting the fact that the pigeon came from Washington.
