Salisbury, August 7 (AP)—The North Carolina State Council of Carpenters, in convention here at the morning session today, decided to make a determined fight at the next session of the State Legislature to have a workman’s compensation law passed, and to this end put through a strong resolution in which the State Federation of Labor is asked to have a special legislative representative on the ground continuously during the session of the General Assembly, and also call on all organized workers to aid in the efforts to secure the relief demanded. Conditions cover the state as they apply to the building trades, and wood working establishments, were discussed in a general way. There is to be an open meeting tonight at which time J. L. Bradford of Nashville, Tenn., international representative, will make an address.
