Voter Fraud in Kansas, 1947

“Election Commissioners’ Vault Forced Open” from the May 31, 1947, issue of the Statesville Record Landmark

A deputy sheriff sorts through scattered records in an election committee vault in Jackson County courthouse in Kansas City, Kansas, after safecrackers blew their way through two steel doors. They took sacks containing ballots from 32 to 34 precincts which were studied by the Grand Jury probing charges of fraud in last August’s primary election. The FBI was instructed to step into the case by Attorney General Tom Clark.
