Has Elizabeth City Got a Flu Epidemic? Doctors Disagree, and When Doctors Disagree There Is Hope for Any Patient

Has Elizabeth City an epidemic of influenza? City Health Officer Dr. Wm. A. Peters thinks so. Some doctors agree with him; some don’t Dr. Isaiah Fearing says there is no Flu, that Elizabeth City has its perennial epidemic of bad colds; that conditions are not worse here than they have been any time in 24 years.

Dr. Claude Williams says: “What the h—l does Ike Fearing know about it. He stays down around Weeksville and hasn’t enough town practice to know.”

In the meantime the Board of Aldermen has taken no steps to put the ban on public gatherings, not being convinced that there is as yet any occasion for unusual alarm.
