Mice Start Fire at Williams Home, Jan. 6, 1922

Mice Believed to Have Started Fire

Mice gnawing at a box of matches are believed to have caused a fire which nearly destroyed the home of George Williams at 120 East Cypress St. about 6 o’clock Tuesday morning. A frozen fire hydrant delayed the firemen and the ell of the house was destroyed. The rest of the building was badly damaged by fire and everything in the house damaged by smoke and water. Only a Christmas tree standing in a corner of the parlor escaped damage.
