D.W. Robinson, an aged and highly respected negro of Concord, dropped dead Monday morning in the office of the Crowell Clinic in the Realty Building, after climbing the stairway to the seventh story where the clinic is located. He had been in the office only about 10 minutes when he fell over dead. Heart exhaustion, due to the unusual exertion of climbing the stairway, was the cause of death. The elevator was temporarily out of operation.
The man had been a patient at the Good Samaritan Hospital here some time and made frequent trips to the clinic in the Realty building for treatment there. He was 76 years of age and widely known about Concord as a darkey of the old regime. It is said he went with an officer of the Confederate army through the War between the States.
