Yes, North Carolina needs a “workman’s compensation law,” but we do NOT need a thing like the only one presented to us a year ago with any prospects of passage. When the cotton manufacturers (that is to say, the majority of them) become willing to see a fair and real “workmen’s compensation law” enacted, The Union Herald will gladly help to secure its enactment.
