Funeral Service for E.F. Garrand April 13, 1924

Funeral Sunday for E.F. Garrand. . . Pall-Bearers, Honorary Pall-Bearers and Floral-Bearers Are Scheduled

Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock for E.F. Garrard, for many years one of the leading

officials in the Liggett and Myers tobacco company, who died at his home on Gloria avenue Friday morning. Rev. Michael Bradshaw, presiding elder of the Durham Methodist district, Rev. W.W. Peele, pastor of Trinity Methodist church, and Rev. H.E. Myers, pastor of Memorial Methodist church, will officiate at the service. Interment will be made at Maplewood cemetery.

Mr. Garrard was a widower. Two daughters, Annie Walker Garrard and Nellie Garrard survive.

Active pall-bearers will be as follows: A.J. Bullington, Jones Fuller, W.P. Henry, S.H. Hobgood, J.S. Cobb, C.H. Livengood, S.M. Alexander, and P.A. Sloan.

Honorary pall-bearers will be: J.F. Wily, John D. Briggs, O.T. Carver, Dr. S.D. McPherson, and G.H. Flowers.

Floral-bearers will be: Fuller Glass, V.C. Garrand, F.L. Walker Jr., W.L. Cole, H.E. White, R.M. Gantt, Clinton W. Toms Jr., John Lipscomb, C.B. Edwards, W.S. Royster, M.S. Llewellyn, C.D. Cole, T.M. Brennan, C.B. Buck, and B.H. Powell Jr.
