Women Chosen Delegates to State Democratic Convention, April 12, 1924

Two Women Are Delegates. . . Mrs. J.G. Fearing and Miss Lilly Grandy Represent Pasquotank at State Democratic Convention April 17

Two women were elected as delegates to the Democratic State Convention at the meeting Saturday of the Pasquotank Democratic County Convention.

The women delegates named are Mrs. J.G. Fearing and Miss Lilly Grandy with Mrs. Bessie Stewart and Mrs. Sallie Boetcher as alternates.

Others named as delegtes to the State Convention are: E.F. Aydlett, J.C.B. Ehringhaus, L.E. Thorpe, P.G. Sawyer, P.H. Williams, J.K. Wilson, W.L. Small, J.J. Morris, W.L. Cohoon, A.B. McCabe. Alternates for those elected are C.A. Ownley, W.J. Williams, J.E. Lane, A.W. Stanton, J.C. Thompson, M.R. Fletcher, J.W. Foreman, J.H. LeRoy, H.M. Balance and Martin Jennings.

The delegates and their alternates were elected upon the recommendation of a nominating committee composed of Martin Simpson, C.E. Thompson and W.L. Cohoon.

The convention passed a motion favoring the unit rule of voting at the State Convention. That is the Pasquotank County delegation will vote solidly at the State Convention for whoever may be the favorite of the majority of the delegates.

P.G. Sawyer, County Prosecuting Attorney, was re-elected Chairman of the Pasquotank Count Convention and John Hall, law partner in the firm of Ehringhaus & Small, was elected Secretary.
