Fatally Wounded in Dive in Shallow Water. . . Carl Lomax Fatally Injured When Neck Was Broken After Dive in Yadkin River

Salisbury, June 21—Carl Lomax, 20 years old, of Spencer, died in a local hospital today as a result of a broken neck sustained late yesterday when he dived into shallow water at a bathing resort on the Yadkin River near here. Witnesses reported that he attempted a double somersault in the air before striking the water.
