J.M. Batson, who for the past score of years, has been manager of the Singer Sewing Machine Company here, stated yesterday that he had severed his connection with that company and has gone into the insurance business. Mr. Baston has brought out the New Bern Insurance Company, and will handle the renewals for that company. Mr. Batson has established offices for his insurance company at 93 ½ Middle street, over the New Bern shoe store, and is soliciting all kinds of insurance. He is the agent of many of the larger insurance companies of the world, and is able to handle practically any kind of insurance. In addition to the insurance business, Mr. Batson is also running a real estate agency in connection with the Hagood Realty Company.
