I am sorry to say that Mr. Mack Starnes, who is living with his grandson, Mr. Jackson Dees, fell Tuesday night and broke his hip, and is suffering a great deal. He wants all of his friends to know it, so they can come to see him. Mr. Jackson Dees lives on Mr. John Garmon’s farm beyond the Jackson Training School.
Rev. and Mrs. W.H. Williford came down from Cooleemee yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Willeford is a daughter of Mr. Starnes. I hope all of his old friends will come to see him. He is 77 years of age and it will go pretty hard with him to stay in bed. So let’s give flowers to our friends while they are living; don’t wait till they are dead.
