Henry C. Bryson, one of the best known business men of Jackson County, died at his home in Cullowhee last night, following an illness of about a week.
Mr. Bryson leaves a widow and five small children, and three brothers, Holmes Bryson of Asheville, Sanders Bryson of Oklahoma, and Dr. Ed. J. Bryson of South Carolina, all of whom were with him at the time of his death except Sanders.
Mr. Bryson has been prominent in Jackson County, where he was born and reared, for many years, and was the head of the department store at Cullowhee, known as Henry Bryson and Company.
He has been in poor health for several weeks, and for the past few days physicians had despaired of his life.
He was a member and steward of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, at Cullowhee, a member of Sylva Lodge, A.F. & A.M., and of Waynesville Commandery, Knights Templar.
The funeral will be at Cullowhee tomorrow, Thursday afternoon.
