With this issue The Carolina Jeffersonian enters its second year and on this occasion we extend greetings to each and every member of the Ku Klux Klan in North Carolina, express to them, individually and collectively, our appreciation of their support and confidence during the past 12 months and to express the hope that we shall be in better position to serve them in the future than in the past.
The first year of the existence of any newspaper is conceded to be the most trying. The Carolina Jeffersonian has successfully passed through this initial period and is now safely launched upon the sea of journalism in this state. This has been made possible through the constant and loyal support of several thousand Klansmen in North Carolina and words fail to express our appreciation of the same.
On this, the threshold of a new year, The Carolina Jeffersonian has brighter prospects than at time in the past. As our readers know, there is every facility for producing a bigger and better paper. Offices are maintained at Durham and Raleigh so that it is possible for the management to keep in constant touch with Klans all over the state and to devote much more space to matters pertaining to the organization.
One year old, The Carolina Jeffersonian is a most lusty youngster and growing more so all the while. Its paramount purpose is to serve the Klan in North Carolina and the nation at large. With the continued support of so many ardent and loyal Klansmen we could not fail in our effort to accomplish this even better in the future than in the past.
In conclusion we again express our appreciation for the support of the past year and to assure each and every reader that our efforts will be doubled toward the end of making The Carolina Jeffersonian all that could be desired in every way.
