Grand Jury Drops Charges Against Mob Accused of Attacking Coot Robbins, Sept. 16, 1925

Watauga Mob Case Fails When Brought to Jurors

Boone, Sept. 8—When the evidence in the now famous mob case at Blowing Rock in which wide publicity was given an alleged attack on Coot Robbins, was heard by the grand jury here, the whole charge fell through and that body failed in sufficient evidence to hold the men indicted. The action of the grand jury also automatically exonerates former deputy sheriff Dave Wooten and Police Bud Bauguss of dereliction of duty.
