Wisconsin Women Drive 2,000 Miles, Camping Along the Way, to Visit Concord, Sept. 5, 1925

Wisconsin Women Are Concord Visitors. . . Tour 2,000 Miles Alone to Spend Week with Relatives in Cabarrus County

Additional proof has been given to the theory that woman is no longer dependent on man. Five women and a small boy have recently completed a motor trip from Fondlac, Wis, to Concord, a distance of over 2,000 miles.

The trip was made entirely by automobile. The party camped out each night and stopped at suitable places to prepare the meals.

Making the tour were Mrs. Spencer Tynan, sister-in-law of Mrs. D.E. Tucker of Cabarrus County, Mrs. Tynan’s small child, Mrs. Martha Osinger, Mrs. Amy McCarthy, Miss May Redlinger and Miss Margaret Tynan.

They declare that they were interviewed constantly along their route and that at Washington, they were photographed as well as interviewed. Is is their first trip south and they are delighted with their visit to Concord.

They have been shown over Concord and on Friday were taken to Charlotte, where they took in all the sights. They expect to return to Wisconsin on Monday.

It required 11 days to journey from Wisconsin to Concord, their tour being made in an Overland Touring car.
