James Wallace, 15, Dies After Fall, Nov. 4, 1925

James Wallace Fatally Injured by Fall Saturday. . . Son of Register of Deeds

The 15-year-old son James of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Wallace accidentally and fatally injured himself last Saturday about 12 o’clock noon. He and one or two other boys had gone down to the Yadkin River near the old fair ground to look at a muskrat trap. He slipped and fell backward upon the stub of a cane which stuck into his back 3 or 4 inches.

One or two other boys were with him. He was conscious and talked sensibly to Rev. C.W. Robinson only an hour or two before he died.

It was though Sunday that he was getting along well. Monday evening he became worse and by midnight, or rather 11:40, had died.

He is survived by two younger sisters and one younger brother. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of which his parents are. Rev. W.L. Griggs, pastor who is conducting a meeting at Blowing Rocky, was to return yesterday afternoon. The funeral is to be today.

The burial will be at the Presbyterian cemetery, North Wilkesboro.
