Rock Hill Youth Gets Three-Foot Shark on Coast
Rock Hill,
S.C.—Fishermen in this vicinity will put the soft pedal on their tales of
prowess when they learn of the achievement of a youthful disciple of the
redoubtable Ike Walton, Dick White, 8-year-old son of Mrs. Eva Moore White of
Oakland Avenue, who has added to his list of achievements the landing of a
three-foot shark.
The “catch” was
made at Murrell’s Inlet, where the lad with his mother and other relatives have
been spending several days. On Thursday the boys went out in a small boat with
an old colored fisherman as guide and chaperone. When the “bite” came it took
the combined efforts of the group to haul in the surprising catch. The shark
belonged to the shovel-horse breed.
