Divorces Granted in Superior Court

Divorces had the right of way on the civil court calendar that opened when Judge W.F. Harding convened a term of superior court at the court house Monday. In the following cases the petitions for divorce were granted:

R.D. Lockman vs Rosa R. Lockman

Mrs. Edith Gaither vs Amos Gaither

Lester Johnson vs Hattie Johnson

May McFarland vs McFarland (no first name was given)

Carrie McVickers vs Walter McVickers

Anna A. Workman vs H.S. Workman

Continuances were ordered in four cases.

After the trial of the divorce cases, the court took up the civil suit of W.L. White vs the Carolina Ralty Company, wherein the plaintiff is suing the defendant for $5,000 as the result of a collision between the plaintiff’s automobile and a truck of the defendant company September 23 on West Trade Street.
