Dunn, Nov. 29—The lure of Thanksgiving hunting resulted in the death of Bud Lewis, 12-year-old son of Hardy Lewis, who lives 13 miles east of Dunn in Sampson county, today when the back of his head was blown off by Rogers West, his 16-year-old first cousin. The two boys were hunting and were walking a log across a swamp when the gun went off unexpectedly.
The unfortunate lad fell into the water and death resulted instantly. The load from the shotgun struck the lad at close range, blowing away the back of his head.
