Broadway Man Kills Father of Sweetheart, April 17, 1924

Broadway Man Kills Father of Sweetheart

Broadway, April 14—Will Yarborough was killed at his home near here late Sunday evening by a man by the name of Cameron.

It developed in the testimony before Dr. Scott, the coroner, that Cameron was in love with one of Yarborough’s daughters, and that another man was talking to her, sitting in a car, when Cameron became angry at the idea of another man talking to his girl and asked Yarborough to have him leave, which he did and it seems that from then a quarrel started and the final wind up, was that Yarborough is dead with a blow over the left ear, and Cameron has fled to parts unknown.

One ??? of the testimony would tend to show that it was a drunken brawl, and on the other hand it might have been committed in self defense.

Yarborough is a tenant on the farm of Mr. Burt Thomas, and has a pretty good reputation. –Sanford Banner.
