Leon, April 12—First Lieutenant Solomon B. Ebert, Corporal Emmet A. Reese, pilot; and Private Emitt W. Marsh, all of the 44th observation squadron, postfield, Fort Sill, Okla., were killed late today when their plane caught fire and crashed to earth near here.
The plane was flying at an altitude of 200 feet when it fell, catching fire. It had risen to this altitude after failing in an attempt to land on a plowed field. The bodies of the fliers were burned almost beyond recognition.
