Lincolnton Country Club Is Formally Opened to Public

Lincolnton, June 12—The Lincolnton Country Club was formally opened Tuesday afternoon with a golf tournament, tennis matches and a genuine old-time barbecue. Members of the club and their friends several hundreds strong, were present to enjoy the festivities of the opening day.

The club property situated about two miles from the city on the hard surfaced road is easily accessible and is ideally located. The tract comprises 70 acres and extensive improvements on the house and grounds are under way. The golf course will be one of the finest in the state.

The Lincolnton Country Club was incorporated some months ago with the following officers: President J.A. Abernethy, Vice-President E.C. Baker, Secretary J.W. Mullen, Treasurer Thos. C. Abernethy. Directors: J.A. Abernethy, E.C. Baker, R.M. Michael, A.L. Quickel, Dr. L.A. Crowell, Herbert Miller and Thos. A. Abernethy.
