Local Girls Answering Ad for a Wife, Sept. 23, 1924

Many Girls Ready to Become Wives. . . Young Man Who Advertised for a Wife Through the Columns of the Goldsboro News Has Many Replies

There is no doubt about the fact that there are a number of young ladies in Goldsboro and Wayne County who are waiting to marry a young man who has an income of $5,000 a year, and who is anxious to correspond with some young lady—object matrimony.

Sunday morning there appeared in the columns of The News on advertisement signed by “Lonesome,” to the effect that the advertiser, a young man 25 years of age, an Emercan and agreeable, would like to get in touch with some young lady with a view of matrimony.

No less than a dozen replies reached The News yesterday for the advertiser, and it is likely that he will receive others today, and during the remainder of the week.

Evidently no man has to enjoy single-blessedness these days unless he cares to.
