Slater Fined, Mrs. Ray Convicted, Sept. 21, 1924

Slater Is Fined; Woman Is Convicted

A.T. Slater, white, was convicted in Saturday’s session of Recorder’s Court on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and P. and A. For the first offense he was fined $100 and cost, and for the second a fine of $25 and cost was imposed. Mr. Slater paid the fines.

Mrs. Myrtle Wheeler Ray, arrested in connection with the Slater case, was convicted of running a disorderly house and with P. and A. In the first case she was sentenced to serve 60 days at workhouse and in the second case was fined $25 and cost. Another case charging P. and A. against her will be tried Tuesday.
