According to the latest United States census, the great majority of children who work are not employed in manufacturing establishments but are working on farms. The figures show that 87 per cent of minors under the age of 14 engaged in gainful pursuits are engaged in agriculture, and of these nearly nine-tenths are working on the home farm.
