Funeral services for Mr. W.H. Graham, one of Rowland’s most highly respected and influential citizens, who died Monday night of infirmities of old age, were conducted yesterday afternoon in the Methodist church at Rowland by Rev. P.D. Woodall, pastor of deceased.
Deceased had lived a long and useful life, being 80 years old at the time of his death. He was a Confederate veteran and for years one of the most successful farmers of the county. He was very active in everything for the advancement and promotion of the betterment of the community in which he lived.
Surviving besides his widow are two daughters—Mesdames A.E. Watson and Victor Bond of Rowland, and four sons—Mr. Haywood of Atlanta, Ga., Dr. R.F. of Rowland, Mr. Burton of Shelby and Mr. T.J. of Raleigh.
