Police Must Enforce Law To Prevent Children Younger Than 16 From Driving Autos, Aug. 12, 1919

From the editorial page of The Commonwealth, Scotland Neck, N.C., Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1919

Children Must Not Drive Autos

The first of the new state regulations governing automobiles is that none under the age of 16 years shall drive an automobile, nor anyone over that age who is not mentally and physically capable of managing a car. There are some that come under both these clauses who are running cars around town, which must be stopped, as the local authorities are instructed to regulate this state law.
