Motorcycle Driver Is
Killed in Wayne
Goldsboro, May 11—A.B. Penny, 25, of Goldsboro was killed
early today when his motorcycle collided with an automobile driven by Glenn
Wood of Benson, about six miles from here.
Investigation this morning revealed that Penny was driving
his motorcycle without lights and Sheriff W.D. Grant and Coroner T.R. Robinson
of Wayne County decided an inquest was unnecessary.
Wood said the motorcycle collided with his automobile on a
sharp curve. Penny’s body was badly mangled. Wood sustained a deep gash on his
face when the windshield of his car was broken by the impact.
