Appointment of Charles W. Williams, native of
Cleveland, Rowan County, as extension marketing specialist at State College has
been announced by Dr. H. Brooks James, head of the Department of Agricultural
Economics. Williams will work with farmers and county agents on problems
connected with poultry and egg marketing. He succeeds Guy R. Cassell, who has
been recalled to duty with the Marine Corps.
The new staff member is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
John J. Williams of Cleveland. He attended N.C. State and received his B.S. in
agricultural education. He has been a graduate student at the college for the
past several months and expects to complete work soon for an M.S. in
agricultural economics.
Williams was assistant county agent in Catawba
County from January through December, 1949. During World War II he was in the
Army Air Corps for two and a half years, serving as engineer-gunner on a B-24.
He is a Baptist and a member of Kappa Phi Kappa.

Announcement
Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Zeno
Moore of Whitakers, widow of the late Zeno Moore, who was found dead in bed
apparently the victim of a heart attack.
Mrs. Moore was active in home demonstration work
and was a familiar figure at State Federation meetings. Her late husband was
farm agent of Edgecombe County for many years, and is considered one of the
pioneers of Extension work in this state.
