3-Year-Old Killed When Struck By Freight Train, September 1920

Little Beulah Sigmon, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. John Sigmon, of North Newton, died at the Richard Baker hospital here at 10:40 this morning as a result of injuries sustained when a freight train ran over here near her home. The child wandered away from the house, which is about 400 yards from the railroad, and was run down by an eastbound freight train. Her left thigh was crushed off at the hip and her skull was crushed. Everything possible was done for her, but she had no chance to recover. Loss of blood was sufficient to cause her death.
