Cherokee Citizen Commits Suicide . . . Murphy, Sept. 18--Dave Abernethy, 67, one of the oldest citizens of Cherokee county, committed suicide by shooting himself Thursday afternoon. No reason for the act has been definitely advocated while it is thought his ill health was probably responsible for him taking his life.
