Sgts. Wilfong, Marshall Released, Were On Official Business, Dec. 24, 1920
Winston-Salem—Judge Hartman announced in city court he had found law supporting the action of Sergt. W.D. Wilfong and Sergt. J.T. Marshall, members of the cavalry troop at Hickory, in coming to Winston-Salem in search of government stolen property. The young men were arrested for carrying pistols but the cases were dismissed after it was shown that they were here on a lawful mission, being sent by their company commander, Capt. Wade Bowman.
