Chief of Police Lentz and Mr. L.F. Abernethy returned late yesterday from Lawrenceville, Ga., where they accompanied Mr. Wade H. Shuford of Rhodhiss in search for his car, which was stolen from his garage several nights ago by Paul Wolf of Rhodhiss and driven through the country a distance of 270 miles.
In South Carolina young Wolf met up with a youngster named Wilson, who is alleged to have stolen a South Carolina license number, attached it to the Rhodhiss machine and the pair continued the journey. They were caught by several farmers in a small Georgia town.
The car was badly used, fenders being damaged and the tires worn almost out. Mr. Shuford followed Mr. Abernethy’s big Hudson by several hours.
Young Wolf was locked up here, but will be sent to Caldwell for trial.
