Mrs. C.L. Smith was hostess last night at her home on north George street at a most enjoyable bridge party given in honor of Miss Ethel Miller. The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion with lovely yellow flowers in season and softly shaded lights. Very attractive tally cards were used. The guest of honor was presented with a prize and the prizes for high scores consisted of a man’s silver prize and lady’s hand embroidered handkerchief. After the game a delicious salad and ice course was served by the hostess.
Those present were: Miss Ethel Miller, Mr. W.E. Borden Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Michaux, Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Nufer, Misses Sara Borden, Mary Michaux, Leah Slaughter, Mary Dortch, Catherine Lefferts, of New Bern, and Messrs. Thomas Borden, Lawrence Bradsher, Charles Thompson, Edwin Borden, Claibourn Royall and Emmitt Robinson.
